Friendship Sisters - June 2011

Marsha chose "A Scattered Life" by Karen McQuestion for June's read.  We had a great time discussing the realtionships between the various women and how one person can view a situation and the other person has an entirely different perspective, especially between a mother and daughter-in-law.  There is not really a plot to this novel but a very interesting view of how we differently we live our lives, mother our children and love others. 

It was a nice evening, discussing the novel, events in our lives and did I mention laughing?  Laughing alot.  Sometimes our bookclub gets way off course discussing so many different facets of life.  My mother, Diane is just a crack up and no matter what is going on she brings a smile to our faces.  Oh the wisdom of mothers!

Mom brought homeade strawberry shortcake and it was delicious!  She is a great cook and we always enjoy her treats.

Marsha's husband, Terry, is battling Leukemia.  This week he is undergoing a transplant and we surely want to keep them in our prayers.  It has truly been a battle but he's giving it all he's got.  We miss you Marsha and hope all goes well and you are able to return to bookclub very soon.

This was the last week of work for Rhonda, she has retired!  We are so happy for she and Gary and know that this chapter will bring so many blessings.  Congratulations Rhonda!
